It breaks my heart to see a fishing net more than one meter long snagged on the turtle’s shell.

On August 21, 2019 we were at the Harbourfront preparing it for a tagging event.

We saw a female turtle that we know very well with a net pulling out of her mouth.

We realized that there was a herd in the gorge, which meant that the net was stuck in the gorge.

And it could not speak or gesture nor could it be safely ripped off. Let’s use this mic here when the scissors get another new bottom after taking her measurements we were able to put her back in the water to swim freely.
