The Porsche 911 (992) GT3 is one of the best 911s today with excellent performance on both the track and the street, combined with the impressive sound from the naturally aspirated boxer engine. for drivers who just want to step on the gas to enjoy that feeling one more time. Continuing the tradition of the previous GT3 series, the 992 GT3 was also introduced by the German sports car company with the Touring equipment package.
The Touring equipment package was first offered as a variant of the 1973 911 Carrera RS. At that time, the focus was already on the design and interior details that were most 911-like. Porsche then brought back the product line in 2017 when it launched it for the 911 (991.2) GT3. Since then, the package has been well received by fans looking for a GT3 feel in a less striking car.
When equipped with the Touring package, the new generation Porsche 911 GT3 will receive a number of exterior changes, the most prominent being the disappearance of the large rear spoiler. However, to compensate for the lack of downforce generated by that wing, the German sports car company has brought to this version a seamless active spoiler that automatically activates based on operating conditions.
The aluminum-plated silver trim details on the window edges as well as the front bumper painted in the same car color also differentiate the GT3 Touring from the regular version. Inside, the interior is covered in more black leather, creating a unique and luxurious look exclusively for this version. Along with that, the door panels and dashboard are embossed with unique patterns.
Not only that, the interior is also given a classic look with the steering wheel trim, gear lever, center console cover, door panels, and door handles covered in black leather and similar contrast stitching. The Porsche logo is embossed on the seat headrest. The door sills are protected by black brushed aluminum panels, similar to the center console panel.
Like the 992 generation 911 GT3, the Touring version of the car is still equipped with a 6-cylinder, 4.0-liter naturally aspirated boxer engine capable of generating a maximum capacity of 502 horsepower and torque. Maximum torque of 469 Nm, maximum speed of this engine is up to 9,000 rpm. This engine uses a dry lubrication system, along with six separate butterfly outputs for six cylinders to provide more responsive response.
In the new generation, Porsche for the first time gives the 911 GT3 Touring a 7-speed PDK gearbox in addition to the manual gearbox. On previous models, the Touring version was only sold with a manual transmission. With all these upgrades, the new 911 GT3 Touring can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 317 km/h with the PDK transmission. When using the manual transmission, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and the maximum speed is 320 km/h.
Porsche sells almost all of the regular GT3’s premium option packages on this Touring version, including LED lighting systems with PDLS and PDLS+ technology, driver assistance systems, and carbon braking systems. composite, front axle lift, seat options, Chrono package as well as audio systems.
Porsche 911 GT3 Touring has a starting price of 161,100 USD in the US market, expected to deliver the car early next year.
