Ed met Liz at his favorite local restaurant in San Diego, where she worked as a manager. Liz is a single mom and has a young daughter, and she initially hit it off with Ed as friends. After consulting with a dating coach on the season 1 premiere, Ed plucked up the courage to ask Liz out on a date.
Ed and Liz Confirmed Their Split on the Season 1 90 Day: The Single Life Tell-All
By the time they appeared on the tell-all, Ed and Liz had already broken up. “Ed loves to rush our relationship when we finally became a couple, the next week I was meeting his daughter, the next week I was meeting his sister, his brother. I was thrown in multiple situations I was not prepared for. It took me months to introduce him to my grandparents. Months for that to happen, to break up two weeks later,” Liz told tell-all host Shaun Robinson, getting emotional.
The couple hashed out their issues on stage, but they seemed to leave the tell-all on a hopeful note that they would possibly reconcile.

After going through a rough time in his life, Ed tried to move on from Liz and went on several dates with different women, including one named Kaory. His friend Laura set him up with Kaory, who was her pal from childhood, and he traveled to her native country of Mexico so they could see each other face-to-face.
Even though they tried to enjoy each other’s company, it was clear their personalities and life goals were quite different.
“Kaory, she didn’t respond to my text messages,” he shared in an episode. “She ghosted me.”
90 Day Fiance’s Big Ed and Liz Get Back Together, Get Engaged
In the wake of Ed’s failed journey to find love in Mexico, he returned to San Diego and his beloved dog Teddy sadly died shortly after. On a follow-up episode, the reality star expressed how appreciative he was for the flowers he received from friends and family while mourning Teddy’s death. Interestingly, one of the flower arrangements was from none other than Liz. He ended up reaching out to her, which reignited their romance and led to an engagement.
In September 2021, Big Ed and Liz shocked fans when they were spotted out clubbing together in Santa Barbara, California, TMZ reported at the time. During their night out, Liz was wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger and Ed was introducing Liz as his “beautiful fiancée.”
Two months later, the happy couple confirmed their engagement news. During an interview with People in November 2021, they revealed that they reconnected when Liz reached out to Ed after his beloved dog Teddy died in August. Ed invited her over to his house for dinner and they discussed their relationship and he asked her a very important question.
“The question was, ‘Am I your forever?’ And she said yes,” Ed told the outlet. “And she ended up leaving for work and I did a beeline to the jewelry store and bought the biggest diamond I could find.”
Liz revealed that he didn’t waste any time getting down on one knee. “Back together on Saturday, engaged on Sunday!” she added.
Big Ed and Liz Return for ‘90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?’
The couple appeared on season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, which featured Big Ed and Liz’s journey following their engagement. The season documented the couple as they battled opposition from Ed’s family, along with major trust issues before heading to the altar.
“After Liz and I got back together, a lot of my friends and family did not understand why,” Ed told the cameras during the August 2022 debut. “Unfortunately for my mom when she found out, I think her reaction was, ‘You got to be kidding me.’”
Not only did Big Ed and Liz face outside opposition to their relationship — during an October 2022 episode, the couple got into a nasty fight after their engagement party when Ed accused Liz of having a previous relationship with a female coworker. The fight led to Liz throwing her engagement ring in a bush.
Big Ed and Liz were able to work through their blowup at their engagement party and ended their season on a positive note as they planned to move out of San Diego together for a “fresh start.”
90 Day Fiance’s Ed and Liz Split Before ‘Happily Ever After’ Season 7 Tell-All
When the couple returned for the season 7 tell-all in January 2023, Liz revealed Ed broke up with her and asked her to move out of his home. While Ed and Liz were still seeing each other post-split, but not exclusively. During part one of the special, it was revealed that Ed was on an Asian dating website. It was also brought to light that Ed spoke to his ex-girlfriend Rose Vega within the last few months.
After admitting that they weren’t clear on where their relationship stood, Ed and Liz seemingly called it quits while on stage during part 2.
“I’m tired of all the lies and deflection and projection,” Liz said after learning that Ed had been talking to Rose behind her back.
After revealing she also “lost” respect for him, Ed responded by asking for his engagement ring.
Did Big Ed and Liz Get Back Together After the Tell-All?
Despite their issues, Ed and Liz worked through their problems and remained a couple even after their brief split at the season 7 tell-all, which was filmed in September 2022.
“Rascal Flats said ‘Life is a Highway,’ but it’s been more like a roller coaster,” Big Ed shared alongside a compilation of romantic pictures with Liz in December 2022. “The thing about roller coasters is though … is that they are fun as s—t.”
Big Ed and Liz also seemingly reconciled with Big Ed’s mom. That same month, the couple reunited with Ed’s estranged mom to celebrate the nuptials of a friend.
Liz took a selfie with her future mother-in-law, captioning the cute photo, “Dancing the night away with mom.”

It looks like Big Ed and Liz are still together and going strong in 2023 as well. On January 14, Ed and Liz were spotted while out and about in Old Town, San Diego. They appeared to still be together as a couple as they held hands, according to a photo posted via Reddit.
By January 27, Big Ed took to Instagram to share two loved-up posts proving he and Liz are still together. “Enjoying some R&R..:)! @e_92_marie,” he captioned a selfie of the couple in what appeared to be a hotel room.
That same day, he shared an Instagram Reel of him and Liz together. “Baby, so if I promise to dress up ’cause you look really hot, will you take me to dinner? I mean, I’ll take you to dinner,” Ed said in the clip as Liz stood behind him with her hands on his shoulders.
“Oh, is that how it’s gonna be?” she said with a laugh. Ed responded, “Yes, I love you baby.”
Liz said with a laugh, “Just give me your card and I’ll go by myself.” She kissed Ed on the cheek and he replied, “OK, sounds good. Have a good day baby.”

The couple further affirmed their blossoming relationship in April 2023 when the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? alums took to Instagram to share they were headed on a vacation together.
