As you know, cats love to climb and jump on high places like tables, kitchen counters, and even trees. There are many reasons why cats climb trees, but the main reason has to do with their predatory nature. As hunters, cats like to understand their surroundings. From one vantage point, they will have a better view of their surroundings. This allows them to detect potential dangers and prey.
